AQ Rent property rental platform — Last updated: 30 October 2026
At AQ Rent, we know that your trust in how we handle your data matters as much as your trust in your property. This policy explains what data we collect, why, who can see it, how we protect it, and your rights over it, in line with Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020. This policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions.
- Who we are The controller of your data is "AQ Rent by Nile Axiom", the operator of the AQ Rent platform at www.aqar-rent.com. The platform is not intended for anyone under 21, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.
- Data we collect Registration data: your name, email address, the basic data made available by your Google, Apple or Facebook account when you register with it, and your mobile number, verified by a call from a platform representative. Tenant verification data: a copy of an identity document before the first viewing: national ID card, driving licence, passport, university ID or residence permit. Owner verification data: a copy of the ID card and the ownership contract. These are optional when adding a unit and may be requested at the viewing or when the deal is concluded. Independent broker data: a copy of the ID card and proof of previous work, such as an invoice, a claim, a commission cheque or a previous contract. Company data: commercial register, tax card, the owner's ID card, and the e-invoicing registration certificate when requested. Property data: all details and photos the lister enters about their unit. Transaction data: viewing requests and visits, payments and transfer receipts, any agreements or viewing forms the user signs, copies of lease contracts concluded through the platform, and the copy of the lease contract an owner sends when renting the unit outside the platform. Rating data: the ratings parties give each other, the platform and the representative they dealt with. Usage data: how you interact with the platform, and the cookies described in section 8. Signing in with Google, Apple or Facebook: when you register or sign in with one of these accounts, we receive only your name and email address, and we use them only to create your account and sign you in. We do not request any other permission on your account, we do not access your contacts, files or posts, and we do not share this data with anyone.
- Why we use your data, and on what basis Providing the service you requested: verifying users' identity and status, arranging viewings and coordinating between parties through platform representatives, matching tenants' requests with available units, and concluding contracts. Legal obligations: the platform holds a commercial register and a tax card and is registered in the e-invoicing system; the law requires it to issue tax invoices that include the customer's details and national ID number, to keep financial records, and to respond to requests from the competent authorities. Protecting the platform and its users: preventing fake listings and fraud, applying the ban mechanism when it is proven that someone bypassed the platform to avoid commission, measuring service performance and tracking each request internally from receipt to contract, without tracking your location. Your consent: marketing communication, and the data transfer described in section 5.
- Who we share your data with Direct contact details and the exact address of a unit are never shown on the platform; this rule has no exceptions. Contact details of companies and brokers are not shown either; only the company's logo and name appear. We do not share your contact details with companies or independent brokers; they see only what is needed to complete the viewing and the contract. When a lease is signed, each party sees the other party's details needed for the contract. Government bodies: the Egyptian Tax Authority through the e-invoicing system, and any competent judicial or official body under a judgment or order it issues. Financial bodies: banks and payment providers such as InstaPay, to the extent needed to complete payments. Paid service providers: our approved contractors and technicians for cleaning, photography, maintenance and furnishing, who see only what is needed to do the work, such as the unit's address and its owner's name. Legal advisers: lawyers and judicial bodies when we take action to recover the platform's rights. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with any other party for marketing or commercial purposes without your explicit consent.
- International service partners To give our customers the best service, we work with trusted international providers of hosting, technical infrastructure, business email and sign-in (Google, Apple and Facebook). As a result, some of your data may be stored or processed on servers outside the Arab Republic of Egypt. By using the platform you agree to this, and we commit to working only with providers that apply appropriate protection standards. These providers do not use your data for any purpose outside the operation of the platform.
- Data retention We keep verification documents, contracts, financial records and invoices for as long as the account is active and for 5 years after it is closed, as required by law. We keep the personal data of anyone proven to have bypassed the platform, to apply the internal ban mechanism and protect all users who comply. A scanned copy of every contract concluded through the platform is kept in an internal archive held by the company's management. Your electronic consents are recorded with the time of each consent and the IP address, and a copy is sent to you. When the retention period ends, the data is deleted or anonymised so that it can no longer be linked to you.
- Data security We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. Access to data is limited to authorised AQ Rent staff, each within the scope of their work. No sensitive payment data, such as bank card numbers, is stored on the platform; payments are made by bank transfer or InstaPay outside the website. If a breach affects personal data, we notify the competent authorities as required by law and take the steps needed to contain it. The platform does not record phone calls with users.
- Cookies We use essential cookies to run the website, improve browsing and remember your preferences. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Your rights You have all the rights granted by the Personal Data Protection Law, including:
To know what data we hold about you, to access it and to get a copy. To correct or update any inaccurate data. To withdraw your consent to processing based on consent, and to object to and stop marketing communication at any time. To request the deletion of your account and data, subject to what must be kept by law or to protect the platform's rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at ceo@aqar-rent.com; we reply to your request within the period set by law. 10. Changes to this policy We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or new legal requirements, and we will notify you of any material change through the platform or your registered email. 11.
